Jay-Z and Alicia do an astounding job at letting the world know about the beautiful city of New York. The list multiple things in this song that shape New York, such as the Statue of Liberty and the World Trade center. New York is know for their lights and became nicknamed "the city that never sleeps", which Jay-Z mentions. NYC is home of fashion and music. Most famous clothing lines have headquarters in NYC, as do music labels. It's also filled with bright futures for people ambitious enough to strive for success in such a competitive city; New York is a great city to chase dreams.
You did a good job of explaining what Jay Z and Alicia Keys were trying to say. You broke it down into a simple paragraph. Basically you paraphrased the song, and made it more understandable.

ReplyDeleteI also thought that Jay-Z and Alicia Keys did an impressive job of describing New York City in the this song too. Their different views of the city combined with their musical talents made for a great representation of the city. I also noticed your ability to decipher what the song was really about. You ability to critique the song in it's essence was impressive. My only critique is that you mention a few more adjectives when maybe a bit more specificity. Other than that everything was great.
